Version 0.6.240217 Patch Notes - Shrimps and Swordfish
Hi everyone!
I'm moving to a weekly update format, so expect a new content update every weekend, and some smaller patches and bug fixes throughout the week!
After getting the Merchant and the Yacht, it's now time for some new enemies! Meet SHRIMP and SWORDFISH! Those two new enemy types were added to the game to provide some extra challenge and require more finesse and maneuvering skills! I hope you enjoy those two new additions to the game.
Enemies
Added the Shrimp and Swordfish enemies, and made some balancing changes to create a more textured experience.
- Added the Shrimp enemy, a low damage, low health wandering enemy.
- Added the Swordfish enemy, a fast, high damage charging enemy.
- Kraken: Base Health 4500>5000
- Turtle: XP value 3>5. Turtles rotation is now a bit smoother.
- Shark: Speed now increases every wave
- Enemy diving animation at the end of each wave is now a bit faster
- Made some changes in the waves to accommodate the new enemy types.
Weapons
Made some balance changes to better match weapon efficiency and made some minor fixes.
- Anchor: Base Price 24>27
- Cannon: Base Price 31>32, Damage Per Upgrade 6>5
- Machinegun: Base Cooldown 0.4>0.35, Cooldown Decrease Per Upgrade 0.06>0.05
- Shotgun: Base Price 23>26
- Sniper: Base Price 33>31
- Torpedo: Base Price 26>35, Damage Per Upgrade 7>6, Explosion Range Per Upgrade 0.2>0.1
- Pulsator: Made a visual fix where the pulsator visual's range would be lower than its actual damaging area.
- Fixed an issue where explosive weapons damage wouldn't sync with their regular hitting damage properly.
Boats
Main quality of life change - increased reverse movement speed, and slightly nerfed Steering and Speed for an overall better game feel.
- Hydrofoil: Updated ability description to better communicate its effect
- Reverse 40%>70% speed
- Base Rotation: 145>130
- Base Speed: 3.3>3
Crew
Replaced unattractive Navigator Scout ability.
- Navigator: Replaced Scout ability (predict upcoming enemy waves) with Marksman (+30% damage). Base Price 19>27
Town
Some slight balance changes to the Store and sign animations.
- Store: First five upgrades each now add a restock (previously, restock/discount alternatingly), level 6 no adds 10% discount and level 7 20% discount
- Change sign animations to better communicate stores status
UI
Improved communication and returned Space as a UI input.
- Made some overall naming conventions for the player stats across the game UI for better coherence.
- Fixed an issue where Space wouldn't work for UI interactions
Level
Improved game feel and readability.
- Some corals have less hit points
- Updated goal trial pole graphics to communicate healing functionality
- Fixed an issue where island tiles colliders were too large and cause unexpected spins.
- Corals no longer reduce piercing projectiles damage
